Hunter Buzzi’s game-tying goal with 1:32 remaining in the third period pulled the Kenora Thistles into a 5-5 tie with the Winnipeg Wild. The tie, which remains unbroken during Telus Cup West round-robin play, provided the Thistles with some measure of revenge against the team that swept them in league playoffs. Winnipeg went on to win the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League championship.

Skylar Lentz also scored a third-period goal for Kenora (0-1-1) who overcame a 5-3 deficit entering the final frame. Ryan Mignault, Adam Withers and Elijah Loon-Stewardson scored the Thistles’ other goals.

Ben Coppinger led the Wild (1-1-0) with two goals and an assist. Jett Woo, Tanner Mole and Brett Namaka also tallied.
