With a 2-1 victory in the final round-robin game, the Winnipeg Wild (2-0-1) leapfrogged the Saskatoon Contacts (2-1-0) into first place Saturday in Saskatoon. The same teams will meet in Sunday’s Telus Cup West final (2 p.m., Rod Hamm Memorial Arena).

Rylan Bettens and Jesse Gibbons scored for the Wild, who led 1-0 going into the third period. Tyler Heidt had the lone reply for the Contacts, who had already clinched a spot in the final the night before.

Winnipeg goalie Mitch Adamyk made 30 saves and held the fort, especially in the third, when the Contacts outshot the Wild 17-5. Isaac LaBelle made 26 saves for Saskatoon.
